Lite Brite renditions of Las Vegas neon.
phase I : research & development

The LV, NV NFP H-R-C Project is a long-term development plan for a non-for-profit arts hotel-resort-casino for Las Vegas, Nevada. This "casino" would work much like Native American casinos, in that the "member" artists (emerging artists submit a portfolio to a peer jurying board for a limited membership of 2 years) would receive a portion of the profits from the casino for the duration of their membership.

Contained within the grounds of the hotel-resort-casino would be a unique gallery exhibition space, performance and music stages, film screens and conference suites. Member artists, and invited individuals, would be able to utilize these spaces during their tenures.

Phase I : research & development is an ongoing phase where I collect information, study architecture and design, photograph, trend-spot, and do all other manner of research and development for the hotel-resort-casino.

To date, phase I : research & development consists of a couple hundred photographs( partially shown on the phase IV link), large and small drawings, prints, architectural sketches, collection of articles about or related to Las Vegas, NV, and a collection of notes.

Directly above are preliminary sketches of a thematic Vegas cup, like the series produced by other casinos, and a first rendition of the architecture.

The LV, NV NFP H-R-C strives to be a LEED Platinum facility (sustainable site, energy and atmosphere, water efficiency, green building materials, indoor air quality).
