Phase
IV : translations
The
photography from the reseach & development phase of
the LV, NV NFP H-R-C Project is "translated"
into graphic abstractions in Phase IV of the project.
These
abstractions are then regrouped to form new compositions
which will eventually serve as the textile designs for the
casino (carpets, upholstrey, etc) among other things.
Here
you can see, by rolling over the images, many of the abstractions'
original photographs.
There
are several different sets: Carpets 1 and 2, modernist windows,
the Bellagio Fountain, old
Vegas signage (both in use and in the Neon Boneyard), architectural
details, casino cups, Vegas chapels, and local homes (including
Liberace's and Wayne Newton's).
Also
part of phase IV is a series of works on paper
where these abstractions are grouped to make "carpet"
compositions.
